One Great Day puts the FUN into helping others. The idea is simple: Your group plans a fun one-day event anytime between October 15 and December 15 to raise money to help those in our community with intellectual disabilities (like mental retardation, autism and Down syndrome). You’ll be able to get ideas, t-shirts, and other “One Great Day” prizes. The Arc of Dallas will make a special “thank you” presentation to your group sometime after your event at a time of your choosing.
Why help support those with mental retardation?
Did you know:
77,845 people in the Dallas
area have mental retardation.
92% of those with mental retardation
receive no state assistance.
1 in 10 families are directly
affected by mental retardation.
64% of the children who suffered
abuse last year have a disability.
How will my One Great Day help?
Every dime and every dollar
you raise will help those who need your help most, local children, youth and
adults with disabilities. The Arc of Dallas has been working with this special
population and their families since 1951, making life better for people with
developmental disabilities by helping them achieve greater independence and
become active participants in the community. The Arc has a network of resources,
programs and services already in place that it operates with virtually no
government assistance. The Arc of Dallas depends upon people like you to help
it raise the funds needed to assist this “forgotten minority”
in our community. To learn more about The Arc of Dallas and its programs click
